Your bike trip in Sweden

During this bike tour you experience the Scandinavian flair of Stockholm and its beautiful
archipelago. All in all it is more than 30.000 islands. Vaxholm, the so-called capital city of the
archipelago, but also charming islands such as Rindö, Värmdö or Sandhamn will fascinate
you. This cycling holiday offers the perfect mix of city and archipelago flair, culinary highlights
and nature as far as the eye can see.

Day 1 : Arrival in Stockholm

Take a first stroll through Sweden’s capital and explore some of the many sights and tourist
attractions.

Day 2 : Stockholm - Vaxholm | 30 km

After breakfast you start your tour across Djurgården, the green island of Stockholm and along the coast to Djursholm. The suburb is popular for townsmen, you will recognise this in many, beautiful houses. By ferry you continue in ca. 30 minutes to the Bogesund nature reserve. Along the route Bogesund Castle is worth seeing. Vaxholm, the capital city of the archipelago, is awaiting you with its grand fortress from the 16th century.

Day 3 : Vaxholm - Värmdö | 35-40 km

In the morning you take the ferry to the island of Rindö and after a short exploration tour you take another ferry to Värmdö. The stone church from the 14th century with a magnificent altar and paintings by the well-known painter Bernt Notke is well worth seeing.

Day 4 : Trip to Sandhamn | 25 km

Today also starts with a ferry ride (approx. 2 hours). It leads to the popular island of Sandhamn, a true summer paradise with bright summer villas, small streets and nice rest stops. Explore the small island or take a bathing day and end the afternoon comfortably on the popular island. Return to Stavsnäs on the same ferry.

Day 5 : Värmdö - Saltsjöbaden | 55 km

Via Fågelbrolandet you continue to the village of Gustavsberg. Not far away you have the possibility to visit the Artipelag, a modern art museum with impressive art and sculptures on ca. 10.000m2. You continue to Saltsjöbaden, today’s destination. The idyllic small town is a very popular local recreation area.

Day 6 : Saltsjöbaden - Stockholm | 35 km

On your last day you cycle along wonderful coastal paths as well as a nature reserve to Erstavik and the world cultural heritage Skogskyrkogården (woodland cemetery), which according to UNESCO is an impressive example for the fusion of architecture and cultural landscape. A few more kilometers later you are back in Stockholm again.
