Your family tour in the Loire Valley:

Discover the royal valley by riding along the majestic river from Beaugency to Amboise where thousands of treasures are waiting for you: from historical heritage with numerous chateaux to wonderful natural landscapes.
Easy bike stages following the “Loire à Vélo” cycling paths, along the Loire river and via the castles of Chambord, Blois and Amboise.

Day 1 : Arrival in Beaugency


On the banks of the Loire river and still overlooked by its imposing 11th century dungeon, Beaugency has kept the charm of a small medieval city.

Day 2 : Beaugency – St Dyé Sur Loire | 30 km


Follow the “Loire à Vélo” cycling paths to Saint-Dyé-sur-Loire which was the former port of Chambord. Then ride through the impressive Chambord forest to join the prestigious château de Chambord, a real French Renaissance masterpiece with more than  440 rooms, that was build during the reign of Francis I.

Day 3 : St Dyé sur Loire – Blois | 25 km


Ride along the Loire river to Blois, and do not forget to discover the town with its typical pedestrian streets and its château offering a brilliant illustration of the evolution of French architecture from the Middle Ages to the 17th century.

Free visit of this unique chateau, with its four facades evoking four different periods! Several centuries of architecture at one glance! The royal apartments remain impregnated with memories of the French king François 1st, as well as the famous Duke of Guise, who was assassinated here. Enjoy the stunning panorama over the old town of Blois and the Loire river.

Day 4 : Blois – Chaumont sur Loire | 22 km


Follow the small countryside routes to the chateau of Chaumont overlooking the Loire River. The ‘Festival des Jardins’ takes place every year in its park, where you will be able to admire different interpretations of artistic garden compositions based on a common theme.

Free chateau entrance which proudly dominates the town and the river and where Catherine de Médicis queen lived.
Follow on your visit discovering the extraordinary International Garden Festival. It’s a real laboratory for contemporary gardens where many landscape creators challenge their imagination with originality.

Day 5 : Chaumont sur Loire – Amboise | 19 km


Along the Loire river or through the vineyards, ride to Amboise and its royal chateau from 15th & 16th centuries. Few streets further on, is the last home of Léonardo Da Vinci: Manorhouse of ‘Clos Lucé’.

Clos Lucé

Free visit of the Manor House where Leonardo da Vinci, at the request of the French King François 1st, spent the last three years of his life. Discover his workshop and the fabulous machines designed by the inventor. Then go for a walk in the park landscaped around the artistic and visionary universe of the greatest creative genius.
