Your cycling tour in Provence:

Classified as a natural regional park, the Luberon area offers wonderful trips which will allow you to discover all the exceptional treasures of this area : wonderful landscapes, a rich cultural heritage, its typical markets and its way of life, combining into an unforgettable fragrant, colourful and flavoured experience.

Day 1 : Arrival in Cavaillon

From its Romanesque Chapel (12th century) to its historical narrow streets, the old city of Cavaillon offers an original view.

Day 2 : Cavaillon – Cadenet | 45 km

A stage dominated by the variety of landscapes which will guide you to the Durance valley with the beautiful mountains of Aix and Alpilles in the background, before reaching Lauris and its 12th century château, then Cadenet and the ruins of its troglodyte chateau.

Day 3 : Cadenet - La Bastide des Jourdans | 34 km

Beautiful trip through a large part of the southern hills of Luberon sprinkled with authentic villages. Do not forget to visit the villages of Lourmarin, Vaugines, Curcuron…. before reaching the small village of Vitrolles en Luberon.

Day 4 : La Bastide des Jourdans – Manosque | 30 Km

A stage via the AOC vineyards of Pierrevert where the Vine and Wine museum is situated, before cycling to the city of Manosque which is a gateway to of the ‘Alpes de Haute Provence’ area, and a place with an exceptional architectural heritage situated in the heart of a natural environment.

Day 5 : Manosque – Forcalquier | 30 Km

A stage between two important places of ‘Haute Provence’ area, showing very different personalities which will guide you to the eastern part of this area known as ‘Luberon oriental’: from the Durance valley, known for having been a natural place for historical migrations, to the colourful and perfumed land of Forcalquier.

Day 6 : Forcalquier – St Michel de l'Observatoire | 14 km

Enjoy your hotel and its swimming pool before riding on this short itinerary towards the ‘Largue valley’ and the nice villages of St Maime and Dauphin. Then reach St Michel de l’Observatoire.

Day 7 : St Michel de l'Observatoire – Apt | 51 km

Going past Aubenas les Alpes (where the fragrance of distilled lavender spreads all over in July and August), start a geographic and cultural transition ride where you can discover a real contrast between arid mountain agriculture (lavender) and irrigated valley agriculture (melons). Finally, you will slowly arrive to the ‘small Luberon’ with its perched villages.

Day 8 : Apt – Cavaillon | 46 km

A necklace of villages (Lacoste, Menerbes, Oppède le Vieux, etc…) through the ‘small Luberon’ will guide you on your stage. This last itinerary, through these villages where time seems to have stopped will stay in your mind as the symbol of Luberon.
Departure at the end of the day.

Possibility of extra night in Cavaillon.
