From Thiviers to La Rochelle, this confidential route reveals its charms through unspoilt countryside, from the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park to the Atlantic coast, following the winding course of the Charente.

The journey begins in the green Périgord before reaching Angoulême, a hilltop town where comic strips reign supreme. Then, like a silver ribbon, the Charente becomes your guide, revealing an exceptional heritage. The subtle aromas of cognac await you in the eponymous town, while Saintes transports you back to antiquity with its remarkably well-preserved remains.

Along the way, the stages follow one another naturally, alternating between picturesque villages and golden Charente vineyards. Rochefort impresses with its Corderie Royale, a majestic testimony to French maritime engineering. As a climax, the island of Aix, a little jewel in the crown of the Charentes-Maritimes, offers a timeless escape before the triumphant arrival in the jewel box of La Rochelle.
