Your cycling tour in Croatia

This tour starts in Dubrovnik countryside : picturesque Konavle! Then, you ride along the Croatian coast and cross the most beautiful dalmatian islands, by alternating short crossings and cycling tours. You discover, for instance, Korcula island and its local food, Mljet island and its National Marine Park, the oldest one in the Mediterranean area but also Sipan island, the largest island of the Elaphite archipelago. Finally, you come back to Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic.

Old City of Dubrovnik in Croatia The ‘pearl of the Adriatic’, dotted with beautiful Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings had withstood the passage of centuries and survived several earthquakes.

Day 1 : Arrival in Dubrovnik and transfer to Konavle

Meet at Dubrovnik airport and short shuttle to Konavle, fitting the bikes, brief with our representative and, depends of the time, warm up ride in Konavle valley.

Day 2 : Loop tour around Konavle | 40 km or 65 km

This day you will spend cycling in farming area of Dubrovnik, cycling route follows the valley and river Ljuta, villages of Zvekovica (with eventually visit town Cavtat) and group of the villages in Gornja Banda.

Day 3 : Konavle – Peljesac peninsula – Korcula island | 50 km

Shuttle from Konavle to Peljesac peninsula and Korcula island. All those who like longer bike rides can cycle Peljesac peninsula bike route (up to 50 km), this route is very scenic but with some demanding parts. If not cycling along peninsula then it is possible shuttle to Korcula and shorter bike ride on the island. Or you can either choose a shorter option from Putnikovici to Lumbarda.

Day 4 : Loop tour around Korcula | 40 km

We suggest a circular ride from the village Lumbarda to Korcula town where in the old town you can visit Cathedral, house of Marco Polo,…after town sightseeing you will bike along coastal road to picturesque bay of Racisce, after eventually lunch there, you return same road back to Lumbarda.

Day 5 : Korcula – Mljet | 30 km

Head to port Korcula where you take ferry to Mljet (journey time about 30 min), classified as national park  (entrance not included – costs approx. 15-20€ per person). Mljet island is famous for its untouched nature with its two salt water lakes and historical monuments. Your cycle ride starts in village Pomena or Polace (according to your booed accommodation), a two small towns just outside national park territory. Your route will take you around the salt lakes, through villages Babine Kuće and Soline, around lakes back to town Polace or Pomena.

Day 6 : Mljet – Dubrovnik (free day)

Today you depart from Mljet to Dubrovnik, taking a ferry. Upon arrival in Dubrovnik you will be taken to your accommodation. Free afternoon.

Option : possibility to organize a sightseeing walking tour (2h) in the historical centre with local guide.

Day 7 : Loop tour around Sipan | 20 km

You leave Dubrovnik for a day trip to Elafite island Sipan. From your Dubrovnik accommodation you will cycle to port Gruz where bikes are put on board for the crossing to island Sipan. This is ideal day for easy cycling, swimming and relax from the city crowds.
Island Sipan was the residential place of Dubrovnik’s patricians but today is calm and well-preserved typical Dalmatian island. Following the road from Sudjuradj past vineyards and olive groves to Luka, a small harbour on the west of the island. Here you will find many interesting sights to explore: including old churches, summer residential palaces, beautiful pine forests and hidden bays. During afternoon you take a ferry back to Dubrovnik (there are several times that you can choose for return to Dubrovnik).
