Your gastronomic bike tour in the Loire Valley:

Day 1: Arrival in Blois

Discover the charming town of Blois, as you stroll along its paved streets punctuated with staircases, and the château, a perfect illustration of how French architecture evolved between the Middle Ages and the 17th century.

Accommodation in a 3-star hotel in Blois town center. Dinner at your leisure.

Option: Possibility to plan the dinner in a gastronomic restaurant.

Day 2: Blois – Amboise | 39 km

Follow the 'pays des châteaux' cycling tracks through nice tiny villages to the château of Chaumont-sur-Loire, which proudly dominates the river. Then continue on the 'Loire à Vélo' cycling tracks before arriving at the charming town of Amboise with its royal château, where the greatest kings of France lived.

Accommodation in a charming 4-star château-hotel located in the countryside near Amboise.

Dinner at the restaurant of the château (one Michelin star), a beautiful intimate dining room walled with 16th century tapestries as well as the coat of arms of the previous owners, visible on the beams, all discretely lighted by stained glass windows.

Day 3: Amboise – Chenonceaux | 41 km

This stage through the vineyards of Montlouis-sur-Loire will take you to the Cher valley and Chenonceaux, famous for its Renaissance château elegantly straddling the Cher river.

Accommodation in a former coaching inn renovated into a 4-star charming inn just a stone’s throw from the Château of Chenonceau.

Dinner at the restaurant (one Michelin star). The chef favours genuine traditional French cuisine that has been updated. Top quality season products and produce from the Inn’s vegetable garden contribute to the authenticity of the preparations and aromas.

Day 4: Chenonceaux – Chitenay | 40 km

Ride along the peaceful Cher river banks to the medieval town of Montrichard. Then leave the Cher Valley and enter the vineyards of Touraine via the Château du Gué Péan and the Château de Fougères-sur-Bièvre, a small fortified castle which perfectly illustrates the local building arts of the 15th century, before ending the day in a charming rural inn.

Accommodation in a 3-star rural inn located in the heart of the château country and which offers a warm welcome and a family atmosphere.

Dinner in the nice dining room or in the beautiful garden to taste and enjoy a creative and passionate cuisine prepared with fresh local products.

Day 5: Chitenay – Blois | 50 km

A richly coloured route via the Château de Cheverny, remarkable for its sumptuously furnished apartments, leading on to the prestigious Château de Chambord, a true masterpiece of the French Renaissance boasting no less than 440 rooms, built during the reign of Francis I in the heart of a well-preserved natural site.

Testimonials
  • Maxwell W. (USA) - Aout 2017

"This was a very well organised tour. There were no hiccups and all the hotels were excellent with good food. We would recommend the tour to others most strongly."

  • George S. (UK) - July 2017

""We had a wonderful time touring the Loire by bicycle. Friendly welcome everywhere we went, superb food and a great adventure.""

  • Patrick D. (France) - Septembre 2016

A refaire. "
