After Lalande de Pomerol, the vineyards of the Côtes de Bourg take you to Blaye and its imposing citadel. Of course, your cycle trip along the Bordeaux Wine Route would not be complete without a foray into the heart of the vast Haut-Médoc or without a glimpse of the mythical Château Margaux!

Day 1Arrival in Bordeaux
Bordeaux is one of the cities in France that has made the greatest effort to develop its cycle paths! Take the time to visit its old town, a veritable labyrinth of medieval streets, or stroll along the docks of the Garonne river, which have been completely renovated.
Day 2Bordeaux – Saint Emilion | 64 km
Once you have crossed its emblematic stone bridge, leave Bordeaux easily on the Roger Lapébie cycle path, which takes you through the vineyards of the Entre-deux-Mer to the majestic Sauve-Majeure Abbey, which combines Gothic and Romanesque art. After a stop at the foot of the imposing medieval castle of Rauzan, continue your discovery of the Bordeaux Wine Route to the prestigious village of Saint-Emilion, famous for its vineyards but also one of the richest villages in France in terms of historic monuments.
Day 3Saint-Emilion – Blaye | 65 km
After a final stroll in the heart of the medieval town, hop on your bike to reach the vineyards of Pomerol. Then it’s time to discover the Côtes de Blaye AOC. Blaye is famous for its imposing and majestic citadel overlooking the Gironde river, built by Vauban in the 17th century and listed as a historic monument.
