Burgundy by bike - Greenway

Succumb to the charm of the Tour de Bourgogne by bike, an exceptional journey that winds its way through the heart of a legendary region! Following old greenways and towpaths lining the canals, this itinerary plunges you into the very essence of the Burgundian art of living, between prestigious grands crus and a thousand years of heritage.

The adventure begins in Beaune, Burgundy‘s wine jewel, before taking you on a ballet of prestigious vineyards through the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The names sound like a symphony to wine lovers: Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Pommard… Each stage promises memorable tastings. France’s first greenway then welcomes you between Givry and Cluny, offering a gentle, peaceful ribbon of tarmac.

Along the way, the region’s architectural heritage reveals itself majestically. The Romanesque abbey of Cluny bears witness to a past of greatness, while the silhouettes of the feudal châteaux of Berzé-le-Châtel and Cormatin tell the story of the region’s turbulent history. The Val Lamartinien offers spectacular panoramic views, culminating in the mythical Roche de Solutré. Winding roads lead you to authentic villages where winegrowers share their passion in a friendly atmosphere.
