Enjoy your 4 days by bike to discover one of the ‘Great sites of France’ From the medieval city of Saint Valery sur Somme, you ride on quiet and small roads or beautiful bike paths. You discover several landscapes: sandy beaches, charming villages, dunes and forests. A flat land and a wild nature make this route a great destination for a bike trip.
Day 1 : Arrival in Saint Valery sur Somme and excursion to the 'Vimeu' countryside | 34 km
Take the time to discover the medieval city Saint Valery sur Somme. The marina, the walk along The Somme river as well as the views of the bay since the Guillaume Towers and the Chapel of Sailors are unmissable.
The first excursion takes small and hilly roads in the countryside, le ‘Vimeu’ where you discover charming villages, like Mons-Boubert, typical in Picardy.the return to Saint Valery is quiet and flat along the Canal on a beautiful bike path.
Day 2 : Excursion to Cayeux sur Mer | 39 km
By great secured bike paths, you reach the ‘Pointe du Hourdel’ where you may have the chance to see seals. Then you ride through the dunes on a track without cars to arrive in Cayeux sur Mer, a charming seaside resort with its large beach. Flat return to Saint Valery sur Somme by small country roads.
Day 3 : Stage Saint Valery sur Somme - Le Crotoy | 46 km
An incredible diversity of landscapes is offered to you with a loop which allows to discover the “heart” of the bay. From Saint Valery sur Somme, heading north by secured cycle paths along the bay before to reach the charming harbor, Le Crotoy. Then the route follows shared roads to reach ‘Rue’, a small medieval city with its tower. After, you discover an unmissable into the Bay, the Marquenterre Bird sanctuary. You join the small station of Le Crotoy where you spend the night.
Day 4 : Stage Le Crotoy - Saint Valery sur Somme | 30 km
A last slow stage between Le Crotoy and Saint Valery sur Somme. You cross the marsh in the countryside. Then you reach the bay by small roads in the countryside or good dirt track. You discover the Chinese Cemetery, a surprising historic place. Back to Saint Valéry sur Somme along the bay on bike paths.

Jolie randonnée en baie de Somme, beaux paysages en bord de mer et en campagne en majorité sur des pistes cyclables ou des petites routes.
