Your bike tour in Provence and Camargue:
On this bike tour you discover Provence and the Camargue – a land of light, colors and scents. Many well-known painters have lived in Provence: Picasso, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Matisse, Cézanne, etc …
The Mediterranean climate is so pleasant that people live outside … and use to play “Pétanque” and drink their “Pastis”.
Highlights of this tour include the medieval town of Avignon: the famous Pope’s Palace (UNESCO World Heritage Site), St. Rémy de Provence which has the best conserved Roman monuments, Les Baux de Provence: a medieval hill top village in the Alpilles, and Arles with its numerous Roman and medieval monuments. You will enjoy Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer: a little village between the sea, the sky and the Camargue (nature reserve), and lastly the Pont du Gard: the aqueduct over the Gardon river, the best conserved from the Roman Empire.

Just what we needed! The bikes were just fine, the support service reliable and prompt, the hotels well-chosen, and the multiple way-finding aides made it pretty much impossible to get lost.

travel date: 31 March 2018.
We had a wonderful time cycling around Provence and the Camargue national park. The route that was planned was extremely well thought out, and the resources provided first class. It was such a treat arriving at a well chosen hotel each night with our bags ready delivered. I will most certainly book a similar holiday int he future with Rando Velo.

We did this self-guided tour the 3rd week of May. Fantastic weather, nice accommodations, wonderful scenery. Maps/instructions were generally good. A few days have cycling short distances on gravel or dirt roads but are bareable.
