Your bike tour between Lake Geneva, Lake Bourget and Lake Annecy

In the heart of the Alps, this hike takes you to three emblematic Alpine lakes: Lac Léman, Lac du Bourget and Lac d’Annecy. The Rhône and Isère rivers take you to the heart of the valleys for a serene ride. Widely accessible to all, this tour offers moderate difficulty.

Departure possible on Friday or Sunday

Day 1 : Arrival in Genève or Gaillard

Take your time to discover this charming town on the shores of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). Gourmets will be delighted to find a wide variety of restaurants. The opening onto Lake Geneva is highlighted by its unmissable Jet d’Eau (water fountain). The Alpine massif in the background reminds us that we are in the heart of the mountains.

Day 2 : Genève or Gaillard - Seyssel | 69 km

From the centre of Geneva, a wide plain takes you to the Rhône river banks. Once you’ve crossed the river, a small winding road takes you through the vineyards, with the Jura Mountains in the background. Small, bucolic country roads plunge you into the heart of nature, right up to the border between Switzerland and France. On the banks of the Rhône, you arrive at your stopover village of Seyssel, between the Grand Colombier massif and the Montagne du Prince.

Day 3 : Seyssel - Aix-les-Bains | 46 km

The Rhône river is the common thread running through this itinerary. It takes you all the way to Lac du Bourget. A small road overlooking the lake gives you a breathtaking view of the mountains tumbling into the turquoise waters of the lake. These landscapes will take you all the way to Aix-les-Bains. Here, you can enjoy a swim by the lake, or visit the town’s historic centre.

Day 4 : Aix-les-Bains - Sainte‐Hélène‐sur‐Isère | 66 km

Starting out from Aix-les-Bains, the cycle path along the lake offers magnificent views. Beaches and villas line the route. A small river takes you as far as Chambéry, before continuing through vineyards and up mountainsides. The Bauges massif accompanies you to your next stop.

Day 5 : Sainte‐Hélène‐sur‐Isère - Annecy | 57 km

Following the valley, the cycle paths pass through the town of Albertville and follow the mountain rivers before arriving at the southern end of Lake Annecy. The views over the lake, with the Aravis mountain range in the background, are breathtaking. The banks of the lake take you to the heart of Annecy, the Venice of the Alps.

Day 6 : Departure during the day

Discover Annecy and its historic centre criss-crossed by canals, its colourful houses and the shores of the lake before your journey comes to an end.
