Your cycling tour in Brittany:

The ideal trip for the ones who want to enjoy the peaceful and magnificent scenery. Start with an original view of the countryside by bike on the cycling path at the rhythm of the Ille et Rance Canal from Rennes to Saint Malo! Then take time to enjoy the “Corsaires Town” of Saint Malo, its beaches along the charming Emerald coast and the beautiful fishing ports and villages all around.

Day 1 : Arrival in Rennes

Capital of Art and History, discover the historical neighbourhoods of this typical Breton city. You will stroll along the paved streets with half-timbered houses to the majestic Parliament House dating from the 17th century.

Day 2 : Rennes – Hédé | 41 km

Leave this animated Breton capital using the cycling paths which will lead you to the ‘Voie Verte’. Cycle now along the peaceful Canal punctuated by typical green landscapes.

Day 3 : Hédé – Dinan | 37 km

Continue cycling along the Canal from one river lock to the next. You will pass farmlands and fields bordered by hedges and trees, and several typical villages of Brittany. Then, the majestic Mediaeval city of Dinan will appear in front of you!

Day 4 : Dinan – Dinard – Saint-Malo | 24 km

Reach the banks of the Rance Valley which presents unique landscapes. Then follow the ‘Voie Verte’ paths to Dinard, a beautiful town presenting a fantastic seaside heritage : from beautiful manor-houses facing the sea to magnificent beaches and pathways along the sea.
Then embark on a bus boat to enjoy a nice view over Saint-Malo.

Day 5 : Departure during the day

Before leaving, save time to visit Saint-Malo, the the fabulous “cité des corsaires” or pirate city. Many legends are still haunting the narrow streets of the centre of this town fortified by Vauban!

Possibility to plan 1 or 2 additional cycling excursions, from Saint-Malo:
– an excursion to Saint Suliac, a sumptuous fishing port listed among the “most beautiful villages in France” (37 km).
– an excursion to Cancale, famous for its oyster culture, offering wonderful views over the bay of Mont St Michel (38 km).
