Your cycling tour in Brittany:
The ideal trip for those who want to enjoy the peaceful and magnificent countryside scenery by bike!
Discover unknown Brittany, far away from the overcrowded beaches and cycle on the ‘Voie Verte’ path along the Ille and Rance Canal, from one river lock to the next.
Day 1 : Arrival in Rennes
Capital of Art and History, discover the historical neighbourhoods of this typical Breton city. You will stroll along the paved streets with half-timbered houses to the majestic Parliament House dating from the 17th century.
Day 2 : Rennes – Hédé | 45 km
Leave this animated Breton capital using the cycling paths which will lead you to the ‘Voie Verte’. Cycle now along the peaceful Canal punctuated by typical green landscapes.
Day 3 : Hédé – Dinan | 37 km
Continue cycling along the Canal from one river lock to the next. You will pass farmlands and fields bordered by hedges and trees, and several typical villages of Brittany. Then, the majestic Mediaeval city of Dinan will appear in front of you!
Day 4 : Dinan – Dinard – Saint-Malo | 25 km
Reach the banks of the Rance Valley which presents unique landscapes. Then follow the ‘Voie Verte’ paths to Dinard, a beautiful town presenting a fantastic seaside heritage : from beautiful manor-houses facing the sea to magnificent beaches and pathways along the sea.
Then embark on a bus boat to enjoy a nice view over Saint-Malo.
Day 5 : Departure during the day
Before leaving, save time to visit Saint-Malo, the the fabulous “cité des corsaires” or pirate city. Many legends are still haunting the narrow streets of the centre of this town fortified by Vauban!
Possibility to plan 1 or 2 additional cycling excursions, from Saint-Malo:
– an excursion to Saint Suliac, a sumptuous fishing port listed among the “most beautiful villages in France” (37 km).
– an excursion to Cancale, famous for its oyster culture, offering wonderful views over the bay of Mont St Michel (38 km).

My wife and I travelled in Bretagne from Rennes to St.Malo and later an extra day to Cancale and return to St.Malo. Two more couples joined us. Overall it was a fantastic tour. The area is gorgeous, the trails are excellent and beautiful, the bikes were new and impeccable. The hotels were OK, not great but good. We were fortunate to have good weather, some clouds but no rain. We are very happy of having requested the RandoVelo services for our tour. In the future we will contact them again for another bike tour in France. Thanks Rando Velo!

We wanted to give you some feedback about the cycling holiday we have just enjoyed in Brittany – Rennes to St Malo- with your company. It was a wonderful trip and perfectly suited to us – being 60+ year old cyclists who only cycle at home off road in small amounts for pure pleasure. We found it all very manageable, interesting and exciting – and would recommend this ride to others who are older with an average level of fitness. It stretched us in a good way. We were very satisfied with all aspects related to the welcoming, accommodation, breakfasts and dinner, and luggage transfers. The dinner at Hédé was superb. We enjoyed all the hotels and the people running them. They were friendly and helpful. The bikes were OK. We loved the views from the hotel at St Malo – we loved so much about our cycling holiday and will certainly look out for you again.
