Your bike tour in Burgundy:

In a few days, we suggest you to discover Burgundy, out of the beatten tracks. You will follow the ‘green way’ through the amazing vineyards of the ‘Côte de Nuits’. Then, you will enter in the green Burgundy and follow the Ouche’s valley to go back to Dijon.

Day 1 : Arrival in Dijon

Walk around the city of Dijon! You will be surprised by the heritage variety: the medieval streets, the mansion houses, some of them with glazed tiles roof, timber framed houses, and Haussmanian boulevards.

Day 2 : Dijon – Beaune | 49 km

Follow the green way to explore the famous ‘Côte de Nuits’ vineyards: Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Clos Vougeot… Stop when you wish for a visit or a wine tasting!

OptionVisit of the chateau du Clos de Vougeot (Included in the "Visit Package")

Bénédicte Manière – Clos de Vougeot

Visit the castle of le Clos du Vougeot (cloister, the former fermenting room, cellars, inside rooms, Benaton’s carrier). You will discover the castle thanks to a new system of touch-sensitive screens set all over the area. They give all the necessary information to understand this amazing place.

OptionWine tasting in Beaune (Included in the "Visit Package")
degustation Beaune

Patriarche Père et fils

Visit one of the biggest wine cellars of Burgundy, 4 little movies tell the story of Père & Fils House all along the visit route. You will be able to taste 10 of the greatest Burgundy wines with a tastevin offered.

Option Extra night in Beaune + bike excursion “Côte de Beaune” (57 km)

Keep riding along the green way though the amazing “Côte de Beaune” vineyards and the typical villages of Burgundy: Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Pommard.  The itinerary leads you to the castle of La Rochepot, famous for its glazed tiles roofs. Follow your way along countryside roads to Beaune.

Day 3 : Beaune – Châteauneuf | 35 km

Leave Beaune on the bike path to Savigny-les-Beaune and its castle. Enter in the nice Burgundy countryside; on each part of the itinerary you will be surrounded by small hills scattered by typical villages. Join Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, picturesque old village perched on high, protected by its chateau dating back to the 12th and 15th centuries!

OptionVisit of the Hospices de Beaune (Included in the "Visit Package")
Hôtel Dieu - Beaune

Alain DOIRE_Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Tourisme

Free audio-guided tour of the Hospices de Beaune. Built in the 15th century to house and care for the poor of Burgundy, this large hospital is a jewel of the civil architecture of the time. You will be amazed by the glazed tiled roofs that have become the symbol of Burgundy.

Day 4 : Châteauneuf – Dijon | 42 km

This stage leads you to Dijon along the ‘Vallée de l’Ouche’, peaceful river crossing the forest. You will ride along the Canal de la Bourgogne used by barges and tourist boats. You will get into Dijon using the ‘Green Way’!
Departure at the end of the stage.

Possibility to book an extra night in Dijon.

OptionVisit of the chateau de Châteauneuf-en-Auxois (Included in the "Visit Package")
Forteresse de Châteauneuf en Auxois

Alain DOIRE_Bourgogne-Franche-Comté Tourisme

The chateau de Châteauneuf opens its doors to make you travel in time: From 12th to 18th century, the castle has been built, converted, developed according to the needs of each one of its owners. You will visit the donjon, the Philippe Pot manor, the Main building, the chapel, the south tour… and will discover its amazing history through the ages.
