From prestigious vineyards to remarkable châteaux, pedal your way through the treasures of this region, renowned for the quality of its wines and the richness of its food, for the beauty of its landscapes and for its multitude of picturesque and charming villages.
Along the way, you’ll come across some great names: the Côte de Beaune and its elegant white wines, the majestic Romanesque Abbey of Vézelay, the medieval village of Semur-en-Auxois, Autun and its astonishing Roman remains… all punctuated by superb medieval or Renaissance châteaux, such as Chateauneuf-en-Auxois, La Rochepot or Sully.

Day 1 Arrival in Beaune
The undisputed capital of Burgundy, Beaune is also one of France’s prettiest towns, a source equally of art and of history: its hospital, crowned by a roof of glazed tiles, is known throughout the world, and its wine museum is a must!

Visit one of the biggest wine cellars of Burgundy, 4 little movies tell the story of Père & Fils House all along the visit route. You will be able to taste 10 of the greatest Burgundy wines with a tastevin offered.
Day 2 Beaune – Châteauneuf en Auxois | 35 km
Still travelling through the famous Burgundy vineyards, you will reach the Ouche Valley and cross the Canal de Bourgogne to arrive in Châteauneuf, a picturesque old village perched on high, protected by its château dating back to the 12th and 15th centuries!

Free audio-guided tour of the Hospices de Beaune. Built in the 15th century to house and care for the poor of Burgundy, this large hospital is a jewel of the civil architecture of the time. You will be amazed by the glazed tiled roofs that have become the symbol of Burgundy.
Day 3 Châteauneuf-en-Auxois – Semur-en-Auxois | 53 km
This route leads you through Pouilly en Auxois then follows the canal of Burgundy on a peaceful ride at the rhythm of slow house boats cruises to reach Semur en Auxois.

The chateau de Châteauneuf opens its doors to make you travel in time: From 12th to 18th century, the castle has been built, converted, developed according to the needs of each one of its owners. You will visit the donjon, the Philippe Pot manor, the Main building, the chapel, the south tour… and will discover its amazing history through the ages.
Day 4 Semur-en-Auxois – Vézelay | 65 km
A ride through the countryside which leads you to Epoisses known for its very tasty cheese. Further on, situated on the top of a hill, Vézelay appears in front of you and guides you towards the wonderful roman basilica classified as world heritage by UNESCO. Outside this monument, a beautiful view over the valley and the vineyards. Enjoy a moment of serenity in the garden of this basilica showing you the deep nature of this area.
Day 5 Vézelay – Saulieu | 50 km or 59 km
After the peaceful countryside of the Burgundy area you will reach the regional park of Morvan. Enjoy the natural landscapes surrounding you and continue in the direction of Saulieu. This small village has been highlighted thanks to the very famous French Chef ‘Bernard Loiseau’ where is its high level gastronomic restaurant.
Day 6 Saulieu – Autun | 50 km or 59 km
Enjoy a ride through the valley along a small river. Discover typical small villages and the atmosphere of the French way of life in rural areas. You will pass the villages Chissay en Morvan and Lucenay l’Evêque proceeding to Autun. Autun is a city of culture, categorized as a city of art and history, with numerous testimonies of 2000 years of history.
Day 7 Autun – Beaune | 73 km
Today’s journey takes you back to the vineyards via the Renaissance Château de Sully and the pretty town Nolay: a charming village which has preserved its 14th-century covered market, and bordered by the “Hautes Côtes de Beaune” vineyards. Continue via the Château de La Rochepot (a magnificent fortress with glazed tile roofs), and the “Côte de Beaune”, famous for its prestigious white wines such as Meursault, Puligny Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, etc … a last taste of sheer Burgundy delight!

Follow your guide to visit the private chateau of Sully; it is a majestic chateau surrounded by water, nestle in a green setting. The discovery of the park and the vegetable garden will be the opportunity of a pleasant walk.
