Day 3 : Blois – Tours | 69 km

Follow the small countryside routes until the chateau of Chaumont overlooking the Loire River, before reaching Amboise and its royal chateau from 15th –16th century. Few streets further on, is the last home of Leonardo Da Vinci: Manorhouse of ‘Clos Lucé’. Then ride through the vineyards of Montlouis to discover the numerous cellars that offer sweet white or sparkling wines, before reaching Tours and its old quarters sheltering the famous ‘Place Plumereau’ famous for its half-timbered houses.

OptionVisit of the Clos Lucé – Parc Leonardo Da Vinci (Included in the "Visit Package")

Still follow the Loire river to the  ‘Sleeping Beauty’ chateau in Ussé before riding through the nice Chinon vineyards! Then follow the Vienne river then the Loire river once again, where stand the beautiful villages of Candes St Martin and Montsoreau. Now ride through some troglodyte sites to reach Saumur.

Day 5 : Saumur – Montjean sur Loire | 95 km

This stage allows you to enjoy the exceptional Loire heritage riding through its wild landscapes! After passing near Angers, continue cycling in the vineyards of Anjou: such as Coteaux de l’Aubance. " Totally recommend this "

We really enjoyed Loire a la velo with Biking France. 400 km from Orleans to Nantes in 5 days through medieval towns, chateaux, vineyards, wine caves, pretty villages, forests and beautiful river to follow. Nearly all on bike paths. Totally recommend this.
